What is this lurgy I've had?

Have had an unidentified lurgy over the last two and a bit weeks. Main symptoms have been - in the first week - achy body, that unwell feeling when you're going down with something horrid, mild hot feeling not exactly feverish, mild on and off headache, very very tired. In the last week the very tired has carried on, with a general unwell feeling. No cough, no majorly runny nose, no chest problems.
So clearly not a major illness in any way but just dragging on and on. Have been working all the way through, am just contemplating another week at work still feeling tired and rough.
COVID has been going around at work but so have other colds and bugs etc. I didn't test for COVID as I have no tests and no cough or fever symptoms, but my friend is now saying it could have been COVID? No real point to wondering I suppose, but just curious.

Sorry. This is probably the most pointless thread imaginable 😂

Covid

I did wonder, but without cough or fever?

Yeah

Yup sounds like the version of covid we just had… others seem to get the newer v and d at the start then cold and flu symptoms. So thankfully the older style is still around…

Ok interesting, thanks. I have had some mild tummy ache on a couple of days too, wasn't sure if it was coincidental or related

I had my covid vacc a week ago and have had the same symptoms.

Sounds like covid.

Paradiseflycatcher · 29/10/2023 22:16

I had the COVID vaccination nearly four weeks ago which is another reason why I was doubtful it was COVID, but I think you can still catch it if vaccinated?

Sorry probably should have mentioned the vaccination in my op

Well if youve been in contact with several people who've tested positive for Covid then yes that would be the front runner but regardless it definitely sounds like a virus of some sort and there are hundreds of viruses other than Covid in circulation.

Pretty sure it's covid. I had deep achey pains that kept me up all night despite taking painkillers, feeling hot, mild headaches, nausea then mild D&V, sore throat over the last few days. Finally did a test today and DH said it looked like I'd drawn the lines on with a thick pencil.

Those achey limbs, mild headaches and chronic exhaustion you describe are symptoms of the current strain of the virus. You can catch Covid if vaccinated, but it should reduce the symptoms a lot.

Paradiseflycatcher · 29/10/2023 22:34

Right, thanks. Good thing I had the vaccine then
