It boggles my mind that people actually buy ice when you can make it for free.

Maybe it's short for ice cream. I'd be more worried about why they're sending their bathroom a card.

Humidititties · 28/10/2023 22:03

I always have a bag of ice in the freezer, cba with ice cube trays/bags

BronnauMawrion · 28/10/2023 22:04

Aww! A shopping list! It's like the good old Mumsnet days.
No naice ham though

Karwomannghia · 28/10/2023 22:04

Ah this takes me back!
does that say edamame?

Karwomannghia · 28/10/2023 22:05

We need a new bathroom cord bizarrely- can you get them in supermarkets?

BronnauMawrion · 28/10/2023 22:05

Edamame... times have changed, huh?

MeinKraft · 28/10/2023 22:06

There's a whole Facebook group about this Grin called Other Peoples Shopping Lists

ICE is in capital letters! Is it a code?

jay55 · 28/10/2023 22:18

My freezer has 2 and a bit drawers, no space for making ice. I'd have to buy for a party.
I will never throw a party.

FawnFrenchieMum · 28/10/2023 22:21

We buy ice, so much easier than crappy ice trays. It’s about £1 for a large bag. Just one thing that is worth it for less hassle.

minisoksmakehardwork · 28/10/2023 22:26

We have a worktop ice maker thanks to dh. I never thought it would be useful but it's so much easier and quicker than waiting for a couple of trays to freeze. Especially if you've got guests coming over. I can easily believe that buying ice when you're entertaining is so much easier.

MadamVastra · 28/10/2023 22:28

I have to say I wouldn't of thought soybeans would be on that list

as a pp said how times change!

in fact looking again it might be something else actually

I wondered this. Maybe they’re having a Halloween party and need ice for drinks?

The list had apparently been dropped and some helpful person had placed it on top of the litter bin where I found it. I never find paper lists nowadays because pretty much everyone (me included) has their list in some sort of app.

Well given that every supermarket sells bags of ice, it seems reasonable to assume some people buy it.

pineapplepinecones · 28/10/2023 22:44

Me, I buy ice. Always have a bag in the freezer. I have been known to take a bag to parties where I don’t think the party giver will have enough
