Party help

Going to a party by myself where I’ll probably only know a few people - if any. I can be a bit socially awkward/boring/talk too much/interrupt etc all without meaning to obviously. Any tips on how to make it a bit more enjoyable (for me and anyone I speak to) for the few hours I’ll be there. I won’t be drinking as I’m driving.

Is the host hosting themselves or is it at a venue? If the host is doing it themselves offer to help by topping up glasses or passing round canapés then use that as an opportunity to chat to people.
Otherwise just mingle asking people how they know the host as a conversation starter.
