Chest infection?

Never had one before so don’t know what they are like. Last Monday I started with a tickly throat, but felt fine then it developed into an annoying tickly cough and now a more phlegm cough. I have had absolutely no runny nose or sneezing. But I have had lethargy and aching limbs which do go away with painkillers. No fever and Covid tests negative. I’m not short of breath.

anyway, I can feel sort of like a crackle in my throat, my chest doesn’t feel too bad other than pulled from coughing, the crackles feel like they are in my throat more than anything and even tickle my nose at times. I can only feel them when lying down. Could almost be described as awake snoring noises or popping candy.

I have tried Vicks, covonia, lozenges, taking long steamy showers etc but nothing seems to shift this cough.

it’s very unusual for me to get a cough.

would you be concerned?

If the crackles were in your chest, or you had a temp I’d be concerned.
if you’re not getting better by Monday I think you’d be worth getting checked then.

Thank you, I’m not sure where the crackles are exactly but they feel like they are in my throat 🫣 my chest feels okay, albeit a bit pulled. I keep feeling cold then a bit hot but no temp on thermometer!
