Anyone dabbling in at-home amateur music production?
After hunting for advice online on which essential items should be part of a very basic hobbyist's music-production set up, I feel I'm not much wiser as it seems it's mainly techy blokes pitching at a higher-end level of kit than my searches for 'basic' and 'entry level' equipment warrants, for the purposes of achieving a 'studio finish' of what seems to be mainly digital music.
I really don't need a particularly great finish, just want to be able to record multi-track with a few actual instruments (all acoustic bar one electronic keyboard) and vocal harmony, and not really mess around with effects; much like old 4-track recording. It is for no other purpose than family interest.
If you have any experience with home recording, can you tell me the most basic kit I would need, please?
