Nectar card scam???

A bit over two years ago I received a nectar card letter to my address, but for someone who doesn't live here. They weren't even a neighbour, so I just returned it to sender.

The next month it happened again. But this time for two people. Again, I did not recognise the names, so returned to sender.

The couple of months later it happened again. So I contacted Nectar. They were not very helpful, as I wasn't the person named, and were unconcerned, and put it down to a glitch... Their advice was to return them to Nectar, which I continued to do.

Fast forward to today, and I have just received the latest twelve nectar card letters. Some names I have had before, and some new ones. On this occasion even the postmen was querying if it was correct, and we agreed he would return them.

To add insult to injury, I don't even have a nectar card myself.

Now my question to you is... Am I victim to some how an unknowing victim to some sort of scam or fraud, or are Nectar really this incompetent - thoughts?

Contact action fraud. I would say someone is potentially going to attempt to apply for credit cards at your address before too long.

Is Nectar a credit card?
I’m only familiar with the Sainsbury bonus points card.

It's a loyalty card.

No but the amount of applications suggests soft searches have been made on the OPs address

Having a Nectar card gives you a discounted rate for borrowing, so yes, it could be linked with that.
