Well it appears not, as I did think to check that which said they were, and not just waste MNs time. 101 on google says it is anonymous, however after going through forms they do require to have mandatory info on myself, name, address, contact details, that I'm not prepared to give for safety. I was asking for info so I can report without being targeted next. Thanks for your helpful input though 🙄

And did you Google crime stoppers?

Hermittrismegistus · 27/10/2023 01:49

Do you understand that them taking your information does not mean that your information will be given to others?

To be truly anonymous, I think the only way would be to call 101 from a phone box and decline to give your name. But then they might be limited as to what they can do about it.

The pp is right; just because the police have your details, it doesn’t mean that they’ll be disclosed. Maybe give 101 a ring and ask them if there’s any way you can make a report without giving your details. They’ll obviously have your phone number but you can always ring back to make the actual report.

Yes Crimestoppers is anonymous. If it were something that I really didn't want to be connected with I would use Crimestoppers as it adds a layer on anonymity.
You could ask to remain anonymous if you phone 101 but they would have the voice recording to listen back to, the area you called from, your phone number etc.
