Do any of you watch the YouTube Kassia account?

I do and have followed debate about it.

Kassia is an account that uploads multiple performances of diploma/concert repertoire standard pieces. The type of thing you can only play after years of instruction and even then each piece would take you a couple of months to get to performance level.

But the person behind this account uploads fresh content constantly. You never actually see them, just a film of their hands.

I think this account is the product of multiple uncredited performers edited to tune out their mistakes and it makes me feel uncomfortable - the lack of credit and also the obfuscation.

Has anyone else noticed this? What do you think?

I've never really thought about it being different people (although, looking at the hands they always seem very similar and are often wearing the same bracelet on the left hand).

It wouldn't particularly bother me if it was more than one person unless it was performances being used without permission and I don't see any evidence of that. Sheet music boss, for instance, is two guys.

There's some performances with an iphone timer and clock to show that it's not speeded up or edited so presumably she gets lots of comments.

I kind of assumed it was someone who had been playing for many years, so would have quite a big repertoire and also not an English speaker so not much text looking at her patreon posts.

Thanks, that's interesting and what I've observed too, physically.

I don't think the performances are used without permission.
