Coronation chicken

I've got an idea to make coronation chicken tomorrow to use up some roast chicken. I have all the ingredients apart from mango chutney. Can I sub anything else? Any work around ideas for this?

Apricot jam?

Sadly I don't have any apricot jam, only strawberry, can't imagine that working!
I have honey, sweet chilli sauce, chilli jam, date molasses and pomegranate molasses, plus sugar, for sweet things that I could possibly use.
I'm wondering if the chilli jam might work? - ish?

Strawberry jam will work! My mum makes amazing coronation chicken and in her recipe she says ideally apricot jam but any flavour will do

What other chutney have you got? Anything fruity?

I agree about apricot jam as a substitute, or just leave it out altogether?

I have onion chutney, and a jar of very spicy Indian mixed pickle. Nothing fruity, unfortunately.

Hmm strawberry jam, really? Might have to try a little bit and see how it tastes

Just remembered I have a rather ancient jar of fig jam in the cupboard, what about that?

I'd have thought the onion chutney and/or the chilli jam would work much better than strawberry jam which would be far too sweet.

And I think I have some frozen mango chunks in the freezer which I could use as well?

I'm thinking chilli jam plus some of the defrosted mango?

I normally use apricot jam but, in a pinch, have replaced with honey

Mango will be infinitely better than mango chutney

Coronation Chicken is one of those dishes that there are no hard & fast rules for. Mine is a bit different each time I make it.
I think the chilli jam and mango chunks will be fine.
