I know I've said this on the other thread, but I think it's worth saying again anyway that this is also a different Tory MP to the one currently on police bail after being arrested for rape, sexual assault and indecent assault.

And Peter Bone who parliament has found exposed himself to an aide is different again.

And there are another two currently in prison.

Crispin! Wow

TooBigForMyBoots · 26/10/2023 18:23

He's had the Whip removed.

Wait, what? So there are three Tory MPs currently under investigation for sexual assault?

I can't keep up.

No wonder Boris Johnson was so blasé about Pincher's alleged sexual misconduct.

PerkingFaintly · 26/10/2023 18:30

Although for the sake of fairness, I remind myself that being investigated and being guilty are two very different things.

So I shouldn't prejudge.

izzygirlis4 · 26/10/2023 18:30

They've been arrested. Doesn't mean they are guilty.
Innocent until proven otherwise.

PerkingFaintly · 26/10/2023 18:37

Ah, so the investigation into Peter Bone is completed and concluded that he did indecently expose himself. Bone has appealed and lost, so the conclusion stands.

There we go, I've caught up on one.

Now just the other two to wait for.

Not necessarily. Rape has been practically decriminalised in the UK. So while I'm pretty sure he'll get off, I know we have plenty of rapists on our streets who haven't been found Guilty.

Is one of them the MP whose divorce judge said he'd raped his wife?

Conservative MP Andrew Griffiths is the man you're thinking of.

funbags3 · 26/10/2023 18:46

What is it with sex scandals and the Tories?

WeWereInParis · 26/10/2023 18:47

I'm not sure. The other one hasn't been named but since he hasn't been in the commons since the arrest last year (so no representation for those constituents) I believe it's fairly easy to find out who it is. He's been re-selected as the candidate for next year's election by his local party.

Andrew Rosindell, MP for Romford, has not voted in Parliament since April 2022. Here's his Wikipedia page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Rosindell It says:

Rosindell is currently on police bail after being arrested in May 2022 on suspicion of indecent assault and abuse of a position of trust. He denies any wrongdoing.[6] His bail has been extended multiple times, and is currently due to run until February 2024,[7] with Rosindell not attending parliament to represent Romford by "gentlemen's agreement" with the Conservative chief whip since his original arrest in May 2022.
