How do you retrieve a hoodie string?!

Asking here because someone will know ๐Ÿ˜‚

The string of my work hoodie has gone up inside the piping around the hood and itโ€™s about a mile long on the other side, Iโ€™m almost tripping over it and probably look like an absolute tramp to my patients!

Is there any easy way of retrieving the string or should I just give up before I lose my temper? ๐Ÿ˜… TIA!

I pulled the string out completely, placed a tiny safety pin on one end and rethreaded. It was a teeny gold safety pin so much smaller than the usual ones, and could fit through the holes.

It was annoying.

Pull it all the way out. Pin a safety pin onto one end. Feed the safety pin end into the channel, and then grasp it with thumb and forefinger from the outside of the fabric. Shuffle it through the channel a small bit at a time, from one hand to the other, straightening out the gathered up fabric each time, and youโ€™ll gradually rethread it. When the safety pin emerges at the other end, take it out and tie a big knot in the end of the string so it canโ€™t pull through again.

Cut a tiny hole and feed it through . Then big knots on each end

This is exactly right. The time honoured method. Use a sturdy safety pin.

I find a kirby grip works well!

Do you have a crochet hook? Pull string out, tie a loop in end attach to hook and work through - providing channel is big enough.

Do it almost like youโ€™re putting your foot into some tights. Grab the Hoody string a little bit away from the end, then bunch up the material in front of it, then grab the end of the string and pull the material back out straight with it. Fiddly as fuck, but does the trick. Otherwise just pull it out.

Pull it out from the other side and re-thread with a safety pin.

How often do you use the string to tighten the hood around your face? If the answer is never, then just pull it out and put it in the bin.

Having had this happen a million times to me ๐Ÿ˜ญ I now always tie a biggish knot at the end of them as soon as I purchase so they can't go up into the abyss that is the piping!
