I haven't had a cold since well before covid, but gradually today I've felt more ill as the day has gone on and now I have a massive headache Confused. DH has had something for a week so it's apparently my turn. Envy

That happened to me in June! Wasn't Covid, I tested straight away (I haven't had Covid). It was a cold doing the rounds of people I knew - I think the resident germ magnet picked it up at nursery, poor little bloke. The cold itself wasn't the worst I've had, at least after the initial raging sore throat, but the post-viral cough lasted three months, and I had to go on Symbicort. Never had to use prescription asthma meds for any length of time before.

Currently in bed with that very same lurgy. Fun, isn't it?

This is only my second cold this year and, for once, it has timed itself well - I go on holiday in 3 weeks and have a theatre performance in a fortnight, so now is good.

Trouble is, I have a new line manager who keeps putting stuff in the diary in the vain hope that I will be back. FFS!!

I'm the same, not been ill since I had covid last year, and my job is so busy I'm tempted to carry on but have actually given in, put some comfy clothes on and gone back to bed!

That sounds like an excellent plan, @NoEffingWay!

This is us right now so I can absolutely sympathise! DS is always patient zero. He picks up everything from school, suffers for a day, passes it round, and then is right as rain the following day while we're all unwell for a week. Managed to struggle through my shift yesterday because my job is one where calling off with a cold is frowned upon but being in is also frowned upon so you can't win. I'm off today so plan on staying in bed most of the day cuddled with the dog trying to catch up on the sleep that I didn't manage last night.

Hope you're feeling better soon OP!

Yes! I had covid in Jan 2021 and not a sniffle since.

Currently walloped with a right stinker of a cold!

Cheeesus · 25/10/2023 09:43

Yes! I have covid in autumn 2020 and one other time since, and not had a cold apart from that.
I’ve been feeling pretty crap for nearly a week now.

Just did a Covid test and it’s positive.
