What are you watching with your tweens this half term?

We are not travelling.

Don’t have anything exciting planned (apart from the odd walk and restaurant).

In the eve it’s just me and my DD on the sofa but I cannot find anything to watch. I feel like 10 years ago there were more options.

Looking for family friendly shows/series/movies - new or old bit free!

Thanks

I introduced mine to old episodes of the Crystal Maze on YouTube and they enjoyed that! Also recently enjoyed Race Across the World.

Seconding Ghosts! DS is too young for topics such as “a free pass” (in a marriage) so we skipped that episode. And he doesn’t understand why the 80s politician ghost doesn’t have any trousers 😄. Otherwise fabulous!

Race across the world has been a mega hit here, and randomly Amazing hotels on bbc - clearly a travel bug in the making!

Alloveragain3 · 24/10/2023 21:25

Another vote for Only Murders in the building

Also Wednesday if you haven't seen

Georgieporgie29 · 24/10/2023 21:26

@RoyalImpatience its a rating of 15 but it’s what you’re comfortable with with your child. Tbf when I first googled it, it said it was a 12 🤦🏼‍♀️ I don’t think it’s too bad though

Become a sex worker, find a rich man, life will be great!

Ummm... good film to show young impressionable kids?

Nah.

Recently watched Ghostbusters Afterlife with my 15 yr old, we both loved it and it is fine for tweens. Then the next night we watched the original Ghostbusters.

Georgieporgie29 · 25/10/2023 08:46

@GreenVelvetCushions ha ha well actually I said to her that look how people judge you without even knowing you, just because people have money doesn’t mean they are nice, adults can be just as mean as teenagers and this is what those horrible girls at your school will end up like (the shop keepers) if they don’t change their ways. Also main character made poor choices but just because she took a wrong turn didn’t mean her life was always going to be like that and there was hope she could get back on her feet. As much as I would like to shelter my children from the bad things in the world I find talking about it works much better with them.
