Toyota Aygo - how much space in the back?

The Toyota Aygo doesn’t look like it has loads of space in the back. Those that have one, please can I ask if you are able to get 2 children in the back in car seats comfortably? Boot space isn’t an issue, I’d just like to know if you found it okay space wise, mainly for short journeys. Any thoughts or feedback would be much appreciated.

I was looking at one in the showroom today and explaining the difference between the Corolla and the Aygo to my DS (fun day out at half term). The Aygo is much shorter in the back. We have a Corolla and it's just right in the back for 2 upper primary school kids.

Thanks. I’m just looking for a cheap runaround so a Corolla is a bit too much. The back of the Aygo looks tight but I don’t know whether to just look for another car like the i10 or picanto.

I’ve had an Aygo and my (then) teens said it was claustrophobic in the back. Plus the boot is tiny. Yaris is still a small car but more spacious for everyone.

I loved my Aygo. Used to manage to get 2 children in car seats and a Bugaboo Donkey in it too 🤣🤣. Had to use the passenger seat as well though for the Donkey seats.

It's small but I found it absolutely fine for shorter journeys.

I used to have an Aygo. I now have a Kia picanto - my teens regularly travel in the back with no issues. The Kia definitely has more space!

It’s tiny. We bought one for oldest to learn to drive but I use it as a runaround. My daughter in high back booster looks really cramped in the back seat.

A four door VW up/Seat Mii/Skoda Citigo might be worth consideration. Decently spacious inside - doesn't feel like a 'small car'. Boot is a reasonable size. Only a four-seater though.

unbelievably frugal on petrol too.

Well what age Aygo are we talking? My friend just traded in her 2013 model, it just about fit 2 toddlers in their car seats. Trunk could fit about 2 bags of shopping.

I have had both an Aygo and a Yaris. For your needs I would recommend the Yaris, for comfort/space in the back and boot space.

Thank you to everyone for your advice. It’s going to be a second car for school runs / around town. Any days out or shopping, I would take the big car. I currently have a 5 and 7 year old but they will grow and it’s a car we want to keep for many years as our little runaround.
