Help! EV charger emergency!

Arrived at our accommodation in the lakes that husband booked because it has an EV charging point & I've forgotten the cable 😩

We're now on 5% and the only ones within a safe distance are sockets only. There don't seem to be any I don't need the cable for.

What do I do? I was hoping there'd be another person with an EV vehicle here I could borrow from, but there doesn't seem to be 😭

Had some replies. Best suggestions are

  • Booths Kendal (tethered rapids) only 5 miles via the chain ferry
  • you can use Tesla destination chargers if not a Tesla (unless you have certain Chademo cars eg. a pre 2018 Nissan Leaf). They have tethered cables. There is one at the Kellbank Hotel near you - supposed to be for guests only however worth calling and explaining your situation. To work they need to have a grey label. This is not tried and tested by me but what the experts say so worth a try if very close.
  • Breakdown insurance should come and tow you to the nearest charger (eg Booths in Kendal).

I think they mean Booths at Windermere. Definitely more than 5 miles to Kendal from where the OP is even if you take the ferry!

Word of warning though OP the Booths ones are very busy!

indeed you're right i meant booths in Windermere

OP let us know how you're getting on there are loads of people on the facebook group wanting to help

Thank you so so much for all the advice! I drove onto the ferry and then to the instavolt at booths & it only cost me 3%. So arrived on 2% which isn't bad for me (I should not be allowed an electric car!) I will make sure the charging cable stays in the car in future!!
