There are plenty of threads about porn-many posters seem to accept it as a fact of life. And there seems to be a feeling that objecting to porn is also objecting to masturbation-which is clearly daft. Most people's problem with porn is about ethics. Are the people involved properly consenting? Properly paid? Properly looked after? We have no means of knowing.

So can I put in a plea for erotica? Freely available, nobody is harmed and absolutely anything is possible. The only limit is the writer's imagination. Give it a try! My personal preference is fanfic-but there are plenty of other free and paid for sources.

Can you suggest any good examples?

Most men are never going to be satisfied by erotica. They need the visual. I like to read sexy things and paint a picture in my mind but I still like to see images too. Porn can be very in your face and gross at times, but I like to look at the naked movie scenes of an actor I fancy and nude pictures of him, which I suppose is not much different to getting off to porn, so I would be a hypocrite to be actively against it.

@GigiAnnna How do you know men would never be satisfied by erotica? They were for a very long time. And men who care about the ethics of porn will manage!

There's a huge difference between a named, paid, consenting actor and a series of anonymous people we know nothing about who could be abused, exploited, trafficked. No hypocrisy there!

The porn industry is huge. Some men might wank off to a book or an audio but I'd bet my life that the vast majority would prefer to see some pussy, tits and ass. You're naive if you think different.

The porn I've watched is just laughable. All that fake moaning and groaning . It's portraying sex where men are totally in control, the woman is just a receptacle and goes along with Everything suggested . Fuck and go . Real life is just not like this .

Maybe they were satisfied because that's all there was . People who make porn just care about profit .
