Black cutlery

I just got new black shine cutlery and it came out of the dishwasher all tarnished. Do I have to hand wash and polish or is there a way to wash it in the dishwasher?

I’ve just googled some and it says *please note this cutlery is not dishwasher safe.
Did you read the box/leaflet on the ones you have to check your is?

@AdultingIncorrectly Oh well I didn’t even think about that since nowadays most things are dishwasher safe. I did look up the brand and it is in fact not dishwasher safe. Thank you!
