Advice about stitches please.

I had a cyst removed from my shoulder on Friday morning. I have one layer of dissolvable stitches inside the wound and a few stitches on the outside which require removing in 10 days.
I have a large plaster-like dressing on it currently and was given an additional one in case it gets wet or needs changing for any reason.
The wound has obviously been weeping and I can see the marks from the secretion through the dressing and can feel it's wet under the dressing.
I'm just wondering if it's normal to only change the dressing once in a 10 day period? Or should I being heading to the pharmacy tomorrow to try and buy some more and change it daily?
I've never had stitches before and only realised once I got home that I really wasn't given any aftercare advice other than don't get the area wet for the next 10 days.
The area is still very tender and sore but I am concerned about infection as that happened last time they tried (& failed) to remove it (no stitches on thst occasion).
Any advice would be very much appreciated (obviously I fully understand that any advice is just that, advice). Thanks in advance.

Draw around the staining on the dressing. If it is spreading then change the dressing/get someone to look at it. If not spreading then leave it on as it will dry out

Thank you very much for such a quick reply. The staining has definitely got bigger each day. I'll get DH to change it now and see if the weeping continues.
Thanks for the advice it's much appreciated.
