Ageing and alcohol

The other week j had three glasses of wine over a few hours and spent the night throwing up and the next day was a write off. Since January I've stopped drinking at home and mainly just socially had a glass etc.
Last night I had half a large glass, couldn't finish the rest, and I'm still with a migraine and feeling sick now.
Am 51, in menopause. Do you think this is it for me and alcohol? Never been a problem drinker, never worried about my liver health, but decided for cost and general health to socially drink after dry January this year.

Yes, early 50's here and had a glass of red one night. Went to work and them came home and went straight to bed!
This was from a point of being unhealthy and drinking half a bottle of wine every night.
Now, five weeks in, I've only had a glass now and again but am seeing booze more and more as poison. I just can't take it anymore and I know it is healthier for me to cut right down to very little alcohol.

Oh gosh I can relate to all those taking to their beds 😀 this sounds like a one way street tbh!

I used to love a glass or 2 (or 3) of red wine. I really really enjoyed it but since turning 50 I just can't. I don't enjoy it anymore and wake the next morning with a sore head after one glass. I feel really cheated! However, I can drink white wine - which I was never a fan of before so it seems my taste buds and tolerance did a complete turnaround. Any fizz I can take - champers, Prosecco, cremant but oddly not Cava which gives me a sore head.

The last drink I had was one of those tiny bottles of Prosecco (that are about a glassful). I was so sick I thought I would suffocate and I literally couldn't move for four hours, on the bathroom floor, freezing because I couldn't even move to get a dressing gown or towel to cover myself.

But I also found that I wasn't even getting a giggly buzz from alcohol. It had no affect on me at all, other than reducing me to a vomiting, immobile wreck.
