Is there a bad cold doing the rounds?

I've got a rotten cold at the moment and feeling a bit sorry for myself.

My DS 15 has had it too.

It's not Covid as we've tested ourselves.

A cold doesn't normally bother me but this one has knocked me for six.

Is there something going around ?

Always!
At work loads of people have been off recently, and there's a lot of lingering coughs.

Get well soon.

I would say yes and for a good few weeks. It took me 3 weeks ish to get rid of it.

Deffo, OH had it all week, and he never gets it. He also worked from day 1 through covid in a public facing roll. Still he didn't get anything. He now has passed it on to me, how kind!!.

Yes, my adult DS picked up something from his work last weekend, he was bad just a couple of days, but I’ve got it now. I’m mainly bunged up and full of mucus (yuk) that has made me actually vomit. It’s no use testing for Covid as apparently there’s only a 1 to 2 hour period where you get a positive result now apparently. DS returned to work Friday to learn that nearly half the staff, 25+ are off. I had my flu jab 3 weeks ago and hope it’s helping this not turning into a full blown cold.

Yes

Yep, currently laid up with it. Full on cold, cough and knackered. Not Covid as I've only had that a month or so ago and recovered. Tested again on Friday and it was negative.

rocknrollaa · 22/10/2023 08:01

Could be Covid - lateral flow tests are not reliable with the new variant.

Disorganisedmess2023 · 22/10/2023 09:48

Yep somewhere in the world, there probably is.
