Going to York for a few days with dh and ds to visit dd at university (it's her first term). Can't wait!

Have you been before ? Dd and I went in 2019 at the same time, it was fantastic.
i cannot recommend enough a day on the riviera, Lake Vouliagmeni was one of the highlights of our trip. I'm very jealous as I utterly adored Athens. Also we went here 3 times https://www.lukumades.com/

we are off to Venice, first time DD has flown since the above-mentioned trip

Nicflowers82 · 21/10/2023 22:40

Center parcs with DH and DC

mynameiscalypso · 21/10/2023 22:42

I had a lovely schedule worked out for balancing work and childcare. I was very pleased with myself as this is our first half term as DS is in Reception and my DH has a training course all week. Of course, it fell apart today and now I'm wondering how the fuck I'm going to manage a busy and stressful few days at work with a 4 year old constantly singing 'We're walking in the air' at the top of his voice.

mamaduckbone · 21/10/2023 22:44

Mine's already over 😟. We had a day in London, a couple of days in Suffolk visiting family and a couple of days lolloping around at home and catching up on jobs. It's gone too quickly.

Atomickittyxx · 21/10/2023 22:54

Well, I had thought we would do a few nt places a few walks and a day at the local farm then the storm came 😭 roads are blocked so we can go nowhere for a few days and it's going to piss it down for the whole two weeks anyway so crafts and baking it will be plus soft play so I can listen to loads of other hyper screaming fucking kids along with my own, walk round the local park inbetween showers don't you just love the British weather!! Pass me the wine now please 😣😣

TheChosenTwo · 21/10/2023 23:03

Working Monday and then Tuesday morning but got the rest of the week off to enjoy some time with the kids.
Tuesday afternoon we’ve booked to go swimming, Wednesday we are going donutting and then lunch with mil. Thursday me and the youngest will go and meet some friends with their kids for a walk in the forest and then lunch. No plans for Friday.
So quite a nice mix of seeing people, doing stuff and nothing. Just how we all like it.
Not going away this half term, we’ve got a long weekend away in a few weeks and the eldest is back from uni to join us.

DerangedViper · 21/10/2023 23:05

Sod all really. The DC can just hang out with their friends or rot their brains gaming

Yes, I'll harass them into completing homework, but otherwise it's benign neglect

mycatsanutter · 21/10/2023 23:07

I'm going to work 2 full days while ds10 is in football club then having 2 days off we will go science museum in Manchester and Crocky trail in Chester , working half a day on the Friday . I know some schools are having 2 weeks off but it's just one here and a week later than normal too for some reason .

caringcarer · 21/10/2023 23:07

Going on first proper holiday since before Covid.

TobiasForgesContactLense · 21/10/2023 23:10

Well we have another week of school to go but when it comes we are taking DS to Legoland. Haven't told him yet! Hideously expensive to stay in the Legoland hotel for one night but it is nearly his birthday.

Then Halloween activities, a couple of chill days before travelling to stay with family and go to a fireworks display.

Diggersandunicorns · 21/10/2023 23:10

My DH is taking the kids away and I’m staying at home (working) with the dog 😆. I’ll miss them obviously. But also can’t wait. Got some friends staying one night. Neighbour drinks another. Lots of baths planned.

BCBird · 21/10/2023 23:11

Some lesson property then facial and having nails done for first time-behind the times I know. Will try and read a book too.

BCBird · 21/10/2023 23:11

Lesson prep not property 🤣

Mountainviewse · 22/10/2023 12:40

Tobias: The Legoland hotel looks great.
