Lost mine on holiday and hate it! Currently relying on contact lenses and I just can't get on with them. I have an optician's appointment tomorrow but it's obviously going to be a few days before I get my new ones.

Anybody know where I could decent looking cheap ones just to get me through? Preferably ones I don't have to order online

If you are short sighted you can’t, they would have to be made up. If you are long sighted then, depending on prescription, ready readers. Although you may not be legal to drive if you have an astigmatism.

Every second shop seems to sell them - most pharmacies, Primark, Deals etc

Depends on the prescription. Are you long or short sighted?

They sell very basic ones for about £3 in home bargains.

Do you know your prescription? There are a few 'next day' places on line.

Chchchanging · 21/10/2023 10:32

Sorry just seen you don't want on line!!!

FallingAutumnLeaf · 21/10/2023 10:49

Have you got a valid prescription?
If so, on line - I know you said no.
Otherwise, you are going to have to wait for the opticians appointment to get a script.

@Chchchanging All I know is that I'm -2.50, don't know anything else 😅

I dont know if you can buy glasses for short sight in a shop. You can buy reading glasses but they will have a + number rather than a -

If you have a simple prescription, you can get them pretty much anywhere. Long sighted then most pharmacie will have basic reading glasses. I'm short sighted so buy cheap ones from Amazon. I've got about 15 pairs dotted around the house.

Specsavers have frames including lenses for £15.

I got the black framed ones as a spare. They are so comfortable they've ended up being my main ones.
