My neighbour is having some work done in his garden and is currently cutting through the roots of our very large fir tree at the bottom of our garden!
Is there anyway I can stop him? He's not a nice man and dh is currently away 🙁

Call the police its criminal damage.

Aldicrispsareshit · 21/10/2023 09:52

If the roots are in his garden, there is nothing you can do. If he's in your garden destroying your property call the police

Sexnotgender · 21/10/2023 09:52

Is he on your property?

Allmarbleslost · 21/10/2023 09:53

If the roots are in his garden you can't stop him cutting them

Might it destabilise it and potentially fall in his direction? Maybe suggest he should take advice of a tree surgeon first? Is the tree on a tpo?

Unless there is a tree preservation order on it, and if the roots are in his garden, he can cut through them. If the tree dies as a result, you might have a money claim against him for trespass to property. Sorry, but that's the law.

What a nightmare! But thank you!
