Is anyone else hearing numerous air crafts passing through? Been regular for the last 20 minutes and quite a few have flown by. In London btw

I’m on a plane about 30 mins out from LHR and we’re flying in really low compared to usual - think it’s the weather forcing planes lower to avoid turbulence. So that’s probably why you can hear them more than usual.

It’s the bison transporters.

Flights are coming in to Heathrow from the east, so overflying London about every 3 mins

Could be, so many have passed very unusual for us to hear.

Could it be because Leeds/ Bradford airport is closed, due to a Tui plane landing and then skidding off the runway this afternoon. No one was hurt thank goodness.

macandcheeses · 20/10/2023 19:46

Numerous aircraft's is totally normal for London.

Diverted aircraft haven't gone to London airports

It’s been a bumpy flight. I’ve made use of the inflight Wi-Fi and browsed MN all the way back to distract me, and I’m a good flyer usually :)

In London?

Surely not

SquirmOfEels · 20/10/2023 19:52

Look on FlightRadar

It's a totally normal evening, with landings every few minutes, and therefore (as approach tonight is over central London) planes overflying at that interval.

It's not every night, as there are different flight paths (chosen to suit prevailing winds and to avoid pissing off the same people under the flight path the whole time)

5-10 mins the the flight path is over you is unusually long
