Please help me retrieve today activities

House is a disaster after going away for half term, one child excessively grumpy & I am reacting to that, weather is appalling, dh has taken them out for a little, but that is also going wrong.
help me bring this day back, or at least some solidarity?!
I feel everything they do makes more mess, or breaks things or pits them somehow in danger. I don’t want them back in. Front of the telly.
bath seems to have sprung a leak, so until I work that out I can’t put them there.

I was going to say stick a film on and get blankets out but that's out if you don't want them watching the telly.

What's gone wrong with today's trip out? If it was completely ruined can it be done again tomorrow?

He took them to get the present for a friends birthday. So they have now come back with toys. messy ones.
Part of the problem is that I need some space in my head not mummy play mummy play over and over.

Just let them make the mess. DH bought the toys so he can tidy it later after bedtime. Make a hot drink and have a sit for half an hour while they make the mess.

Guessing you're in Scotland if it's been half term this week? The weather is grim, I don't think it's worth fighting it today, it's a duvet and TV day!

Make a den with the sofa cushions (sorry!) in front of the TV. Lots of illicit snacks. Tomorrow is another day.

😂 the mess is happening. I might force them into the garden well wrapped up. The problem is me rather than them really.
