Has anyone been to Madeira for Christmas and New Year? I’d love to hear what it was like. We like the idea of somewhere warm-ish but that still celebrates Christmas, which is why Madeira is an option as I see they have Christmas lights and events throughout December. NYE fireworks look amazing.
Any recommendations on area to stay?
It would be my husband and me and our child (8 years). What was actual Christmas Day like? My only worry is that it’ll be a bit lacking in excitement on the day itself if it’s just the three of us in a hotel room or apartment! Would be good to be somewhere that has a Christmas offer so it feels like an occasion. Not sure if restaurants etc. will be closed on Christmas Day…
