About three weeks ago I started the keto diet. I basically have been eating meat and veg for three weeks, haven’t had any sort of pure carb in that time, even cut out milk and upped my natural fats in the form of coconut oil to cook, avocado ect. I have avoided start h heavy veg such as corn ect and when I test my ketones they are never above 0.5! They say ketosis is happening above 0.5 and I’m rarely above! I don’t know where I am going wrong as I literally am eating two egg omelette for breakfast, chicken and broccoli for lunch and usually a steak and cauliflower mash for dinner with a square of dark chocolate for desert, black coffee during the day!! Any advice?? I’m not even using store marinades on the meat, usually some garlic chilli and lemon!

Are you using the pee sticks to test. They are not the most accurate . Are you loosing weight? Peeing a lot. These are also signs of ketosis. I would try and up your fats more. Don't have black coffee enjoy the cream!

How much water are you drinking? Because you should be drinking loads (because it's good on keto) but this can make pee sticks less accurate.

Cheap breathalyser?

I’m using the blood sticks, in fairness I work shifts at the hospital so I’m not testing at the same times when I do but the highest it has ever been was once at 0.8. Yesterday before lunch (skipped breakfast) it was 0.4!? I am drinking about 2L of water and I’m adding cream to my caulmash when I have it for dinner :/ granted I don’t have a huge amount of weight to lose (5ft4 and 56kgs) but I want to get back to my usual weight of 51kgs. Does weight effect how much you lose? I have lost 1kg in 2 weeks :(
