As he hasn't organised a gift for his brother's wedding, I should sit down tomorrow and draw or paint a picture to be framed and given. Reader, I cannot draw. Nor paint. 🤔

As HE hasn’t arranged for something HE should paint or draw the picture or alternatively do what a normal person would and order something online with next day delivery or direct to their address.

Please do this. They will have to put it on the wall every time you visit.

@reallyworriedjobhunter 👏👏
absolutely brilliant 🤩

I am howling at this … OP , please do it 🙏

Keep us updated on your visits !!

I think your husband should give the gift of dance. He could make up a dance which shows his joy for the happy couple. Then at some point during the day perform it.

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 19/10/2023 19:28

This is the sort of shite my dh thinks I can pull out of my arse last minute because he’s so disorganised. Hence why I have this sign in my kitchen to remind him.

My husband, in his infinite wisdom, has decided that...
Steev · 19/10/2023 19:28

Please do it

DogInATent · 19/10/2023 19:30

I'm sure there's a local antique/junk shop with a truly repugnant piece of taxidermy.

TheSquareMile · 19/10/2023 19:30

Could you order something like a selection of good wines for delivery tomorrow?

That would be a welcome gift for most people, I would have thought.

frozendaisy · 19/10/2023 19:31

Superb

The only answer to this surely is
"Are you out of your fucking mind darling"

The only answer on receiving such a gift
"Really you shouldn't have"

dawngreen · 19/10/2023 19:32

Yes do a family finger print one, with a really nice frame. Maybe add another frame for them to do their own family print.

Pokinganose · 19/10/2023 19:32

2 stick figures, one wearing a triangle white dress with appropriate hair colour for both, holding hands facing eachother. OR stick figures jumping in the air with pieces of lentil or actual confetti stuck all around them. On the top edge write their names mr and Mrs whatever. At the bottom of the picture write the date all in gold pen. They'll have to put that on their wall. In a white or silver frame. And yes as someone else suggested wrap it up quick before dh sees it. Not before posting it on here of course. Ooh, don't forget to sign your artwork at the bottom too of course! 🤣

Yes!

when is the wedding?

Ribena20 · 19/10/2023 19:35

This thread has cheered me up no end 🤣

BrightlyCloudedSky · 19/10/2023 19:36

Saturday!

The thing is, I don't want to do something overly emphasising my DC as they tried but can't have DC. So I'm not sure a drawing by my DC or fingerprint families or something child-art-like would be appropriate.

JustAMinutePleass · 19/10/2023 19:37

If you’ve taken a nice photo of them, why not get it printed on mounted paper & frame it?

MsRosley · 19/10/2023 19:37

Blimey. And I thought I was married to a pillock.

MooFroo · 19/10/2023 19:38

Definitely LTB - making sure you paint and draw a goodbye picture and frame it for him 🤣🤣

Antst · 19/10/2023 19:39

He clearly thinks you can solve any problem. That's a bit flattering! It also reveals who's responsible for everything in your house.

mirax · 19/10/2023 19:39

Your husband is a keeper, OP.

White canvas, a river of blood red paint (just let it drip down), shake canvas a bit. That's it : perfect symbol for the state of holy matrimony.

MeMySonAnd1 · 19/10/2023 19:41

A friend of mine got something similar for her wedding from a friend of her husband: a badly, very badly painted scene of a couple having sex! It was absolutely horrible.

Both her and her husband hated it but were reluctant to get rid of it because… wait for this… it came with a certificate of authenticity 🤣

Honestly, I cannot imagine ANYONE would attempt to reproduce that shite 😁

Het them a voucher for a nice restaurant if you don’t have time for a thoughtful present but ignore your husband, he is mad.

GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick · 19/10/2023 19:42

DS painted a portrait of DH a couple of years ago and wrote that it was how he saw Daddy.
DH does not look like an Orc.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 19/10/2023 19:43

I’d paint a kids drawing and mark it from your dh as a child would.

Eg.
Bob age 37.

GoingDownLikeBHS · 19/10/2023 19:43

In which case your classic cock and balls is a good fall back. Known and loved by all, instantly recognisable.(replying to OPs concerns about appropriateness)

GingerScallop · 19/10/2023 19:44

This made me laugh out loud. So simple and so funny. Gave me Dear Leader (North Korea) vibes. You will draw and paint!
On the brighter side, your husband holds you in the highest esteem. Believes you can do anything

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 19/10/2023 19:45

You have me in stitches 😂.

May the force (to put some sense back in his head with a paintbrush) be with you.
