Anyone successfully taught themselves power automate?

I need to learn how to use power automate (build and fix flows). I have plenty of time to do it, but I don't know where to d start. Has anyone done this successfully? Any good resources or advice?

I'm currently googling and looking at YouTube videos but some pointers would be welcome.

I work in IT (IS) and have worked with automated workflows for more than a decade.

The good news is that, with MS' move to low/no code, PA is incredibly easy to use these days and has a lot of out-the-box templates and connectors that make life even easier!

The best thing to do is go in and get your hands dirty by playing with it: I presume you have an E3 or E5 licence through work? If E3, you may have to request a per user licence from your IT team, but the 'basic' version available to E3 users will do to begin with.

I often find resources such as the Microsoft tech community forums or even Reddit useful if I get 'stuck' and I also use an online paid-for library resource called Packt which has useful cookbooks for various products, including PA and BI.

Microsoft's 'academy' also has a range of courses suitable for beginners and every now and again, something good comes up on LinkedIn Learning (although it's not always the most up to date).

The fundamentals of flow planning remain, though, and I always find it easiest to plan my flow in Visio (or even just on a bit of paper) before building it out in PA. I also always write basic test scripts, because flows falling over is always irritating.
