Long shot, but I wonder if there are any mums here with kids doing recreational gymnastics at RGA?
So my DD (almost 6) joined RGA just after the pandemic , Sept 2021, as a pre-schooler. She loved it, it was her fav activity of the week. Then when she started school she used to go at 4 pm on Tue in the Reception group. We already felt a little overwhelmed with the chaos at collection (kids had to get changed and collected from the fire exit at the back, whilst the older kids were doing gymnastics in the same room at the same time). We got over that and after a while it didn't seem to be a huge issue.
Now they decided to do Reception, Y1 and other year groups all at the same time (so that they don't finish late) and the chaos is unbelievable, both during the classes and at collection/drop off. For the last 2 weeks DD didn't go as she says it's way too busy, kids bump into each other and there have been a few minor injuries lately. I completely understand the way she feels.
She is asking us to cancel the classes from the next term.
Then there is the issue that I don't feel she's really learned a lot in the 2 years. There are kids in DD's class at school who can do a lot more (I.e. cart wheels, splits etc), DD has been doing forwards and backwards rolls and jumping on the trampoline pretty much the whole time.
I'd love to hear from other mums who do recreational gymnastics at RGA and how do they feel about it.
