Press coverage in Gaza

Each time I watch reporters in Gaza I’m in awe of their bravery. Im in awe that they stay put in Gaza city amid serious risk to their own lives, steadfastly working day and night to cover the unfolding humanitarian disaster in an evacuated war zone. Seeing and hearing reports through official channels is painfully heartbreaking, I can barely stand to watch at times. Throwing a worldwide spotlight on the unfolding crisis is such a critical task, hopefully enabling aid and political pressure to stop.

I feel the same. I don't know how they manage to hold together through all of this, and after so many years of occupation and siege.

Radio 4 did a wonderful segment on the media in Gaza yesterday - The Media Show at 4.30pm. Worth a listen.

Channel 4 have very good and balanced coverage and a reporter on the ground too.

Thank you for this. Trauma causes permanent damage to the brain and nervous system, which I don't think people realise. Their health is wrecked from conception.

What's your job op?

PantsOfDoom · 19/10/2023 19:12

I'm a carer for people with autism. Staff care deeply and are very passionate about their work but it comes with differing degrees of risk each day. There are injuries to staff and sometimes they mentally burn out or have ptsd
