How do I make this hole in my sofa better?

There's a hole like this in each of my armchairs. They're a kind of wool felt I suppose.

I can't afford to get the armchairs reupholstered. And I love their shape so don't want to bin.

Are there any repair techniques I could use?

Can you find some spare fabric (from underneath?) and cut a larger circle, tuck it into the hole and using curved needle and matching thread stitch it into place?

Whereabouts are the holes?

No idea of prices but they can do a repair that will be invisible.

I don’t know if a felting technique like you can use on wholes in jumpers would work but it might be worth looking up.
