Countries You Would Visit Again

I think I would go back to most countries I have visited. Certainly the USA as so far I’ve only been to California & Washington. I would also return to Greece (had a lovely holiday on Crete & want to see the other islands), Turkey, France, Spain, Switzerland, South Africa, Denmark, Lanzarote, Morocco. Not fussed about Tenerife. Would definitely go back to Italy as I have only seen Venice & Florence.

I wouldn't hurry back to San Francisco or LA but other than that I'd pretty much go anywher again. Places like Cairo and Dar Es Salaam I'd go to much more cautiously as they didn't feel particularly safe.

Ireland, Norway, Austria.

Oganesson118 · 19/10/2023 14:26

Most of them to be honest.

There's still a lot of Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Croatia and Greece to see. In Belgium, Netherlands, Finland and Turkey, I'll happily return to places I've been before. I'd like to go back to Malaysia as only saw Kuala Lumpur and I'd like to go to Penang, Malacca and Langkawi at least. Also the USA, I wouldn't necessarily care to return to Florida (thank god my kid doesn't like Disney) but we have a trip planned to take in Texas, DC, Maryland and West Virginia in 2025.

Easier to say where I wouldn't go back to! Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay I did my gap year in South America and it was amazing but I've seen it now and I don't feel any pull to go back. India was just horrible and I think it's got worse since. And South Africa: Cape Town is the most overrated place I have been in my life but family connections means I'll have to go back at some point sadly.

I prefer to go somewhere new each time as the world is large and good to experience different things. Only place would not go back to is Cuba.

SabrinaThwaite · 19/10/2023 14:34

I’d happily go back to most places that I’ve already visited - to answer a PP, Utah is high on the list because of the amazing scenery and parks. I also liked San Francisco and have been back. Some places are tick done though, and one or two I really didn’t like and won’t be back (they were generally for work though, not out of choice).

Costa Rica and Croatia

Not Marrakesh, and not fussed about ever going back to the USA

I have been to lots of islands in French Polynesia and it honestly is heaven on earth. I can't even put it into words.
I would love to go back just one more time.

Caledoniadreaming · 19/10/2023 14:39

Kenya, Oman and New Zealand - would love to take my family, ideally do 6 months/a year travelling and visit those countries.

Not bothered about going back to New York.

Hbh17 · 19/10/2023 14:45

I can't think of a country I wouldn't want to visit again. I loved Russia but, sadly, a return visit probably won't happen, for obvious political reasons.

Stephisaur · 19/10/2023 15:40

I don't think there's any country I wouldn't visit again.

I would definitely go back to Egypt, I loved it there. The only time I felt unsafe was when I was out on a camel in the Cairo desert and the camel handler asked for my (brand new) camera so that he could take a photo of me. I was SO certain that I was going to get robbed 😂but anyway, he took a lovely photo and I tipped handsomely. We never went anywhere unescorted though, so that may be why I felt safe.

I will be back in Maui once I can afford it (and once it is responsible to return as the area we visited last time was devastated by the fires). Beautiful island.

Then the usual places - Spain, Germany, France, Mainland USA, Switzerland... I'd go to all of those again.

catnipevergreen · 19/10/2023 15:42

Sri Lanka
South Africa

Eve223 · 19/10/2023 15:45

Scotland, Austria, St Kitts, Barbados, certain parts of the USA.

Not been to New Zealand but suspect it's somewhere I would want to keep returning to.

suburberphobe · 15/09/2024 21:12

Hated Turkey.

Me too.

Love me a relaxed time on a terrace having a glass of wine or a coffee and chatting to people on the next table or local passers by.

In Turkey they only have men there - women home cooking and cleaning of course - and you are considered a whore to be there. UGH. Never again.

suburberphobe · 15/09/2024 21:14

Didn't even stop off at one.

I was there for Ephesus, Amazing place.

Jammedchakra · 15/09/2024 21:15

I like to see a lot of a country when I visit, so I never plan to return. Would I be happy to go back? Well
yes. I’ve been to 60+ countries and not one would I not return to.

Love Kenya. Appalling poverty, absolutely chaotic but a wonderful country.

Planning another visit there now.
