Has anyone ever house/pet sat abroad and did you enjoy it.

We have retired last year in August, when the weather was nice this year we have had a lovely time, sitting in the garden reading, bit of Mediterranean lunch and a glass of wine.

As I type, here in the South East it is lashing rain and the light is already fading.

Enough to make you want to run away and join the circus, or failing that house sit in a warmer country.

How long are you expected to be around for the pets ( feeding and watering a given 😂)

Given the weather today, it is a very attractive looking pass time, we would have to be mindful of the 90 day, which affects DH.

I am sure there are other questions that have yet to occur to me. 😂

TIA

I haven't done it I'm afraid, but it's the sort of thing I would be interested in. I ought to look into it in the UK, as I work from home but my work doesn't like us working from abroad.

It is an attractive proposition.

Hadn’t really thought about the UK, but worth throwing into the mix.

Thank you.

There are companies you can enrol with to do this It is a tie so you would need 2 of you to let the other get out and about but may be a way to see some places However a responsible job so work rather than leisure

You need experience with pets and will have to follow explicit instructions as to their care Loco parentis You will usually need to keep the home secure The degree of home care will depend on the owner some have other staff You must genuinely love pets
Otherwise it is a cheap way to see the world .You just have to pay your fares I think and plenty of days lounging around the garden Pool in some cases
