Bedtime for 2 kids -16 months and 5 year old.

What time should I get both kids to sleep? The issue I have is that the 5 year old gets tired after school and needs to be asleep by 730 in order to wake up for school and the 16 month old doesn't really want to sleep until 8.30. Find it a bit chaotic when I am alone. Any ideas on how to stagger it better?

I have 18 month old and 5 (year 1). 5 year old is and always has been shattered so is in bed for 7:30 and asleep straight away. 18 month old goes to bed about 6:30.
Oldest goes to bed about 8 so we have like a 2.5-3hr bedtime routine 😂 fun times.

I was thinking the same thing, that the bedtime routine seems to take 2.5 hours! I'm glad it's not just our household but it's a pain isn't it! I just can't be bothered to do anything at all once I have wrangled them both into bed! I would like to have baby in bed earlier but she doesn't up for it at all..

Bumping if anyone has any good ideas!

Is the youngest on the cusp of dropping a nap? At that age mine was on 1 after lunch then bed at 7. Routine was in the bath together at 6.30. After bath eldest up to their room to play. Youngest into bed, 1 story and goodnight. Then go up and read to the eldest who afterwards was free to either go straight to sleep or play a bit more then put herself to bed. All done by 7.15. I wouldn’t ever have a young toddler up past 7, I need my evening!
