Sudden rash on neck

Hello

Has anyone had anything like this before? Popped up on DS’s neck suddenly and is itchy and painful. I’ve put a hydrocortisone on it, but no difference at all. Four days in now. He also has a sore throat.

Thanks 😊

Just googled the picture thank you. Yes, you’re right! It does look like scabies. I’ve never seen that before. I don’t know where he would have caught that though. He only goes to work and comes home, and I have (genuine) OCD so the house is ridiculously clean and we have no pets.

It spreads and is horrendous. It needs to be treated as don’t go away with it

but will clear up very very quickly with the end

Don’t be embarrassed. Nothing to be embarrassed about

but you should be concerned if your son literally does nothing aside from work and home

He has really bad IBS or IBD, we aren’t sure yet, so it prevents him doing very much. We are working on it. Thank you for your advice regarding this.

Hello, just an update. Might be helpful for anyone who has a similar rash appear.
Doctor diagnosed Pityriasis Rosea and gave my son Daktacort cream and Erythromycin.
Rash disappeared in two days!
I was beyond grateful that it didn’t turn out to be scabies as I am so tired from work right now, that the thought of washing everything on boil, trying to dry dozens of towels and big sheets and treating the whole family was exhausting.
Anyway it’s gone and I must say, GP fitted DS in the morning after we called and said we thought he might have Scabies, so couldn’t fault the GP this time around.
