What's with the posts full of flowery prose?

Have I been on Mumsnet too long now that I'm becoming increasingly suspicious of posts? There are so many that are written like they're gunning for a Booker prize (but more likely to get 3rd prize in poets corner of the local paper), I want to call troll on them but many are really sensitive topics so I feel guilty reporting them.
Is it just me who has seen an upsurge in these?

I can't say I've noticed any posts like that. Can you give an example?

KilgoreTrouts · 17/10/2023 09:24

Example? I’d have said it was the usual combination of under-punctuated stream of conscious maunderings and the slightly calculated ones written with an eye to being hilarious and going straight to Classics, like the one about the neighbours ‘Indiana Jonesing’ into the OP’s garden.

There may be a few that people have put through ChatGPT or the like, I suppose. I can't say I've noticed particularly flowery ones except on a few lighthearted threads where it's entirely deliberate (eg the recent 'Indiana jonesing' thread).

The ChatGPT ones are quite identifiable — there’s a little intro paragraph, then numbered points and a conclusion, in a very bland, neutral register.

Not noticed flowery ones but lots of ‘I (F 22) and bf (M 24)’ which are weird

That's how they post on Reddit. I take those ones to be trolls.

Flowery prose is a troll red flag more often than not.
