The type of dream that just seems so real. Then I woke up, made a coffee and was just about to phone him to tell him I'd pop in with the dog when I remembered he wasnt here anymore. Feel flattened by greif again.

Sorry that’s happened. Been there. It’s horrible. Really sets you back doesn’t it? Only making myself think of happy memories of them helped a little bit. Hope you’ve a busy day ahead that’ll take your mind off of the dream

It's a normal part of the grieving process but it's unsettling all the same.
I still have these dreams 2 years after losing my DP too. I've come to accept this as the norm 😑

My dad died when I was 16. I used to have these dreams and I would actually question him that he hadn't died and that he was really "back". He always promised me he was.

Strangely after my mum died in my 30s, I would have dreams where she was being awful. She wasn't and we had a great relationship but I guess everyone has their faults and hers seemed to be condensed in these horrible dreams (not helped by often being combined with pre-wedding anxiety dreams).

I've never had one with them together. I wish I could.

Sorry for all your losses ❤

Thanks @CharlotteStreetW1 @Lurkingandlearning @fetchacloth . It really took the wind out of my sails. DH persuaded me to go to the beach with him and the dog, a bracing walk has helped.

that’s good. I’m glad you’re feeling a little better

Oh, those are the worst days. Glad a walk helped. It's so true that we grow around the losses, but they never really go away.

It's so hard. I keep thinking about everyone I've lost lately, going back to being a child, and all the grief is still there. It just changes shape. Flowers

I often find a good walk clears my head after a bad night, I'm glad it works for you too 😎
Grief is a long and winding road but time heals eventually 💐
