When I had first moved away to uni my younger brother called me from home, as our parents were away out. He was about 12. He said “I’m making a pot noodle” and when I said OK… he asked “how long do I boil the kettle for?” 🤔

Nurse for many years- this happened frequently.
Do you have any medical conditions ? NO none.
Are you taking any medication.?

When I was a late teen an ex (who turned out to be abusive but that’s not the point of this thread) who had been born and always lived in a major city told me the daughter of a farmer that a bull and a cow were different species and when I tried to tell him that they were actually just the male and female of the same animal, he point blank refused to believe me but he did it in a way that showed he thought I was an idiot for thinking that!

I gave up in the end but was kind of horrified I could have fallen for someone as stubbornly stupid as him.

i sometimes wonder if he still comes out with that gem now as a full adult in the world with no excuse of being too young to maybe know better
