NHS sick days questions

Hi,

I'm a NQN and have been in my job since august. Everything was going perfectly fine but sat night I woke up drenched in sweat but shivering cold, temp is 39.4. Off and on aches and shakes and for some reason I can't sleep at all.

I called in sick today, likely will be calling in tomorrow if I don't improve overnight but hoping whatever this is will shift by Wednesday. I tested negative for covid. My DD also cranky and temp is creeping up.

Anyway, my question was - will this go negatively against my name? Do I get a "stage" I have no idea as I've never rang in before but I genuinely don't think I could of made it in today I could barely stand

I'm a terrible worrier and I've spent the day feeling like a crap person for having to phone in, I know it happens but I just feel like major guilt it's so strange

You get a stage when you have 4 episodes or a certain number of hours in a year. Don't worry and rest.

You'll be fine. It's generally 4 episodes of sickness in a rolling year, you'll have a return to work meeting when you go back and that makes sure you're fit to work again. And that will be that. Done and dusted

Try to stop worrying, rest and get better

Thank you. It's the first of the winter viruses and I'm so anxious over this stuff, felt guilty even though it's out of my hands. Thanks so much for the replies
