I've found that if I sit in a draught for a long time, I'll have mild cold symptoms the next day - nothing major: running nose, etc. - but it ALWAYS happens. My son, who was out in the cold yesterday has got cold symptoms today. A couple of weeks ago he wore dampish clothes and again had cold symptoms the next day. I looked up online whether being out in the cold can lead to a cold (or cold symptoms) but it says not as colds are caused by a virus. I get that but given that's the case, what causes the cold symptoms we experience that seem to be in linked to being cold?
