Period all-over itchiness

Itchyitchyitchyyy · 15/10/2023 22:14

Does anyone get very itchy everywhere during their period? I need reassurance that I'm not going crazy!

It's been happening on and off for a few months, this week has been mad. I feel like I have an itch constantly moving around my body. I also occasionally get what I think are single hives - white spot surrounded by red with an itchy/burning feeling. It usually disappears within 30 mins and they mostly appear on my face, neck or chest.

I have been on the copper coil for a few months and I am also wondering whether it is linked to that. Or could it be as simple as my skin being drier at that time of the month? (Although visually it looks compeltely normal)

Any ideas?

Yes. Always had it. Now I'm menopausal the inching is unreal

Hormones are dicks

Take an anti histamine

I had this (though not during my period, but at a different point in my cycle) after having had ICP in pregnancy - probably experienced it for about a year post-partum, then it seemed to stop.
So that definitely had a hormonal component.

I'm in peri and get this. Makes me want to peel my skin off.

Itchyitchyitchyyy · 15/10/2023 22:57

I've had a few symptoms of peri lately, I will now add this delight to the list. Great! 🙄

Sorry you're all suffering too. It does drive me crazy I keep inspecting my skin thinking there must be something there but nothing!

@Itchyitchyitchyyy what's your blood pressure like as high BP causes this and yes it is irritating as hell🤣

declutteringmymind · 15/10/2023 23:03

I'd get checked out.

Itchyitchyitchyyy · 15/10/2023 23:07

@Devilsmommy if stress and anxiety increase BP then I'd say pretty high at the moment! We have a lot going on.

I even get itchy between my eyelashes. Mad.

@Itchyitchyitchyyy definitely get your BP checked if you're going through alot of stress. Itching from high bp is insanity inducing 😫

Are you peri? Itching is one of my worst symptoms which hrt doesn’t seem to touch. Drives me absolutely mad and is soo uncomfortable and at times painful. Antihistamines by the bucket. E45 cream and I have chucked the occasional steroid cream at it when the itching is at its worst but I know that wouldn’t be condoned by anyone medical 🙈
