Amazon book question

Just recently I’ve found that I can’t read the first few pages of any given book.

This option was called Look Inside I think.

Unless I know the author, I’m not going to buy a book without sampling it.

Wonder why Amazon has chosen to halt this?

The Look Inside preview was always a bit rubbish. I never found it all that helpful, except in the case of books that have an informative table of contents. (But you can often access tables of contents on the publishers' own websites in any case.)

The Kindle free sample is a different kettle of fish, though. I love that. I'd like to read a novel about an impoverished autodidact whose literary knowledge is entirely created from free-sample opening chapters of Great Fiction.

If they have dropped Look Inside, it would be interesting to know why, but not much of a loss.

When I look I still can but if you can't try looking at the kindle version. You can usually see a preview and then go back to paperback if you want to buy that way

You can download a sample these days.
