If you liked Motherland you will LOVE The Letdown. It's Australian and bloody brilliant.

Yes! This was so good. The one where they went away to the vineyard had me and DH crying with laughter.

I agree it's amazing

Well, hello OP!

your taste matches mine and the OH’s almost exactly!

Interested to hear what you think of some of the suggestions. We’ve seen a lot of the suggestions, and they just didn’t cut the mustard. (afterlife/Friday night dinner/IT crowd/parks and Rec etc etc)

I enjoy belly laugh/awkward comedy, and OH loves a bit of sentimental stuff so Young Offenders was good for us

we’ve got teens, and binge watching Gavin and Stacey was hilarious with them

For really sentimental easy watching, with subtle comedy, we love The Detectorists

TakeMeToKernow · 14/10/2023 21:13

Oh Christ,

for really really dark comedy, I’ve just remembered Sally4Eva and Camping. Both from the brain of Julia Davis. Camping is both worse and best.

ReginaPerrin · 14/10/2023 21:15

If you haven’t seen it already, Pulling (another Sharon Horgan comedy).

DahliaMacNamara · 14/10/2023 21:15

The Tuckers. Still on BBC iPlayer, I think.

PepsiMaxLime · 14/10/2023 21:19

Outnumbered, an oldie now really but brilliant.

I absolutely loved Catastrophe when it first came out but I think I’ve only seen the first 2 seasons, can you still watch it on 4?

Iamlikesorry · 14/10/2023 21:22

Camping is outrageous!
Home - C4 - Rufus Jones - lovely
Alma's not normal - hilarious , brilliant and moving
Cant believe no one has mentioned Roisin Conarty in Gameface - C4 - also hilarious brilliant and moving!

Thisislifefornow · 14/10/2023 21:30

Nighty Night. Very dark. Julia Davis.
Stella. Ruth Jones and the divine Mark Lewis Jones though earlier series were better than later ones.

Iamlikesorry · 14/10/2023 22:23

Mum - with Lesley Manville. Fantastic characters. Very funny and moving.
