I’m hungover as sin - what do I want for dinner?

I don’t normally get hangovers but I have broken myself!

don’t know if I want comfort food or something so spicy it makes me sweat. Takeaway or cooking? I can’t make a decision but I know I need an excellent dinner to fix me.

What would you have?

Macaroni cheese and a cold fizzy drink ?

Muchtoomuchtodo · 14/10/2023 18:56

I’m not as hung over as I should be today (wish I knew why so I could do the same next time!) but my go to hangover meal is a fish finger sandwich with cheese and red sauce in white bread with chunky oven chips and lots of vinegar!

lemonyellows · 14/10/2023 18:58

Chip butty

I'm hungover too and just had a huge salty dirty Chinese, with kung po, special fried rice, crispy chilli beef and ribs.

I kind of feel better, and kind of feel like I could puke.

Mcdonalds
Coke zero and a beer after

ScentlessAprentice · 14/10/2023 19:11

Noodles. Spicy noodles, maybe some soup and dumplings. It will absolutely cure you.

6 pack of wotsits

As a starter..

Then KFC with extra hot wings and more alcohol for the main with chocolate buttons for the pudding.

Crabwoman · 14/10/2023 19:22

Egg fried rice
Sweet and sour chicken balls (the more the sauce resembles a nuclear sunset in colour the better)
Mushroom chowmein
Crispy seaweed
Veggie spring rolls.

Basically, the carb/fat ratio should be 50:50

Chelsea26 · 14/10/2023 19:25

Thanks guys - I’ve gone indo-Chinese

Dried chilli lamb, potato 65, plain naan and hair of the dog…

Ben and Jerry’s in the freezer for after

Nigella www.nigella.com/recipes/drunken-noodles worth getting a hangover for!

Saved this for future reference 😆

BinkyBeaufort · 14/10/2023 21:33

A big mug of tea, bacon butty with brown sauce and a Twix.

MalibuBetty · 14/10/2023 21:34

Salt and chili chips and gyoza with a can of San Pellegrino lemon

Lozza70 · 14/10/2023 21:35

Quarter pounder with cheese and a full fat coke. If you are very very hanging add a portion of chicken nuggets and curry sauce…..

SallyWD · 14/10/2023 21:36

A big macaroni cheese with garlic bread

NancyJoan · 14/10/2023 21:39

I usually favour 47 pieces of Marmite toast, a Diet Coke and a little carb-endured sleep. Then wake up, more toast, and a bottled beer.

mrsbyers · 14/10/2023 21:40

Hot and sour soup

muddlingthrou · 14/10/2023 21:47

Lasagne, garlic bread and roasted veg

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 14/10/2023 21:51

This thread confirms my suspicion on a previous thread months/years ago when a mum asked if people would prefer takeaway or a roast dinner and so many folk said a roast. What a load of nonsense.
I was thinking "wtf!" It has to be a takeaway!

Op I'd be going for sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice :)

Inyourwildestdreams · 14/10/2023 22:02

Surely everyone knows that this is the hangover food of the gods?! 😮

Red box cheesy pasta, loads of black pepper, bread & butter, can of Diet Coke/Irn Bru depending on the mood 🤤

Added bonus of the smell making DH heave if he’s also rough so he runs a mile at the sight of the red box and I get to watch absolute crap on the tv without him moaning 😂😂
