Depends where you are. In Scotland, Falkirk, Stirling, Clacks, Highlands and Fife have been off this week and are also off next week. The rest of the country will be off next week.

My sister lives in rural Leicestershire and her family were driving up to the Lake District this afternoon as it’s half term next week in her area.

OTOH my niece in Coventry (West Midlands) says her children have their half term holidays the following week.

It's not just independents that have two weeks at October half term virtually all the state schools where I am have 2 weeks.

There's lots of places where half term starts next week and just as many who have time off in the following two weeks. October half term spans for approximately 3 weeks.

Some secondary schools in North Somerset save all their inset days and have 2 weeks half term in October.

So jealous of those of you that have finished already, we're in until 27/10 here in South Warks & we came back on 1/9 (children on 4/9). It feels like the longest half term ever. Then we've got 7 longs weeks until Christmas (finishing 22/12)

SE London - we have 2 weeks but not until 23/10 and then back on 6/11. Most schools here that have 2 weeks are the same as us, but some are taking this week and the traditional half term week after.

We're off the week after and I know of at least 1 the first week of November.
