Learning to drive

I am 30 next month
Two kids 7 and 2. Can't drive.
My partner passed his test in April and we purchased a second hand manual car three weeks ago and now I want to learn so I can get myself around and getting home from work at 9pm (supermarket shift work ) would be so much easier but I am putting it off as I am scared I will be throwing money something I will never pass . Would need to learn manual to as we can't afford to run a second hand automatic car. I'm mostly worried about judging how much room I have on narrow roads and the space between me and other cars driving the opposite direction. If I could afford to run a second automatic car I'd go straight to a auto lessons but it's not really going to be a cost I can justify

My partner passed first time to after about 5 months of lessons and I think I'm going to be one of those people who have to spend thousands 😭
