Help! What do I ask for at hairdressers? (Pics included)

I usually just go for an all over colour a shade darker than my natural colour. I’ve not been in about 4 months and thought my hair looked okay until taking this pictures - never realised there were different colours running through it!

I don’t want to pay mega amounts. What do I need to ask for? I only go 3 times a year so not very sure.

The options seem to be, root touch up, full head semi and full head permanent.

I have lots of greys coming through as you can probably see. How do I get this to even out?

Why on earth do you want every strand to be the same colour for? It will look like cheap box dye.

You need your roots touched up to match your natural hair colour
Ask for low lights all over to add depth, (only need this max twice a year)
Keep the face area slightly lighter to stop you from looking washed out
Ask for all-over glassing of non-low lighted hair inc roots (semi-perm colour)

The glossing will make you look youthful as our hair dulls as we age and you will need it to blend the roots with the rest of the non-low-light hair

Having multi tonal hair is a good thing surely? You don’t want to be one block colour. Or do you mean your roots have grown out so you’ve got different coloured roots to the rest of your hair?

I’d ask for a consultation, then book the actual appointment based on the outcome of that.

If you don't trust her to give the correct advice then go somewhere else.

My hairdresser does roots and then drags a few streaks of the root colour through my hair to blend. Then the uncoloured hair ( which lifts over time so is lighter) acts as natural highlights. It looks v natural I think.
