What is your teen’s bedroom like? (I don’t mean how tidy)

I have a 16 year old dd who has grown out of their bedroom as in it has been the same for seven years since we moved in.

They need all new furniture including a new bed which they have literally grown out of (she is tall!) It also needs decorating.

If there was space I would like to do a proper teen’s hangout with a tall sleeper bed and desk and gaming area but it’s a really small space so it will have to be traditional.

I was wondering if most teens have a normal bedroom set up eg single bed, bedside table, wardrobe, or is it done up for a teenager and to their taste in their chosen colours etc.

Any tips or ideas on where to start?

If you have space, go for a small double, especially if you have tall teens. My DCs rooms were decorated in neutral tones but had free reign over accessories/bedding. This meant that they could change it up whenever they wanted to. Their favourite purchase were LED lights. They attached them to the ceiling and they easily changed the colour/mood of their rooms.
