I need a cake for my DD’s birthday. She’ll be 11 so nothing too childish. No dietary restrictions. Hit me with your favourites please!

Waitrose do one which spells out Happy Birthday and each individual letter is an individual cake. Not sure how many it needs to feed but it saves you having to faff around cutting a cake and everyone can 'pick' their piece. It's only about £15 too.

I just take the kids to the cake aisle and let them choose their own.

I have a 3 year old Grandson, who has autism and possibly adhd, has anyone got any advice how to re introduce food to him.
Since having Covid at approx 15 months he has an extremely limited diet, and it's a worry?

Depends a bit on how many people you need slices for. I don’t like that solid icing on so many birthday cakes so prefer cakes with some sort of butter cream topping instead and my top choices are:

The Waitrose chocolate cake with “happy birthday” written. Absolutely delicious. I have been known to buy it just to eat when it isn’t a birthday!

The M&S version of it called something like extremely chocolatey (they started making Waitrose dupes when they took over Ocado) is nearly as good (but more variable in quality.)

The M&S rainbow cake made to order is great too, if you don’t want chocolate. Comes in 2 sizes.

I really want some cake now…
